Expanding SOX and Business Process Consulting Services for Clients

RESTON, VIRGINIA, April 24, 2007 -- Ryan, Sharkey & Crutchfield, LLP (“RSC”) announced today that Scott Carruthers, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) has joined the firm as a Senior Manager in their assurance practice.  Scott will lead the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Business Process Consulting practice for RSC to further expand the services available to clients to help them ensure their internal controls and processes are effective and efficient.

Scott brings thirteen years of business experience working for Fortune 500 companies and will help RSC clients understand and prioritize the key controls needed to provide reasonable assurance that their financial statements are accurate and complete prior to the client’s audit engagement.  His most recent experience included managing internal SOX and operational audits for an internal audit organization.  In addition to his audit background, Scott’s experience in finance allows him to support clients with financial modeling and analysis as well.  “I look forward to collaborating with the RSC team to develop scalable programs to help RSC clients focus on the high-risk areas of their businesses and identify and prioritize  the key controls they should have in place,” says Scott Carruthers.  “Compliance does not equal efficiency,” he continues.  “My goal is to help clients find a better, less expensive way to implement operational and process improvements so they can realize efficiencies that increase profits and drive shareholder earnings.”
